How to sign up for text messages

Effective October 1, 2026

Text messages from Tiemban (Tiemban Notifications, operated by BETBOY LLC) are optional. People sign up only on this website, by ticking a box that is unticked by default, on the same form as the mobile number it applies to. Texts are never required to post an ad, browse or pay. Every text starts with “Tiemban:”. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

1. Posting an ad

  1. On https://tiemban.com/ads/post?lang=en the person fills in the ad and, under Contact, their mobile number.
  2. In the same Contact step as the number there is an optional, unticked box:
    “I agree to receive text messages from Tiemban about this ad at this number (when it is approved or not, and reminders before it expires with a link to renew).”
    “Optional, not needed to post. Msg frequency varies, usually up to 3 texts per ad. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.” with links to the SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
  3. We text a one-time code to confirm the number (the person asked for it by posting). Example: Tiemban: your code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes.
  4. Only if the box was ticked: approval and expiry texts, and a text when a buyer writes to them about the ad, e.g. Tiemban: your ad "Nail salon for sale" is now live until Nov 22. 2. Text alerts for new ads

  1. On the board, “Text me new ads like these” opens a form with the person's mobile number and an optional, unticked box:
    “I agree to receive text messages from Tiemban at this number with new ads for this search, at most 1 text a day.”
    “Optional. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. You can change or stop alerts any time from the link in our texts.”
  2. We text a one-time code to confirm the number; the alert starts only after it is entered.
  3. Example: Tiemban: 2 new ad(s) for Texas: https://tiemban.com/ads?state=TX Change or stop: https://tiemban.com/ads/alerts/Xy12 Reply STOP to opt out.

3. Writing to an advertiser

A buyer who writes to an advertiser through the site gives their mobile number and confirms it with a one-time code; we then text them when the advertiser replies (“Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.” is shown under the form). Example: Tiemban: new message about "Pho restaurant for sale" from Lan: “Yes, it's still available.” Read and reply: https://tiemban.com/l/m/Q7w8E9r0T1y2 Reply STOP to opt out.

4. Sign-in codes

A one-time code is sent only when a person asks to sign in to My account with their number: Tiemban: your sign-in code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes.

Stopping and help

Reply STOP to any text to cancel; we confirm and send nothing more. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. We record each opt-in (time, page, wording and IP address). We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
